For our midterm "intermediate" project I decided to tackle something I had never attempted before. Making a watch! I really love watches and thought it would be really neat to make one myself. However my lack of knowledge stopped me. I had no idea where to start or what to do. Some research was in order. Eventually I came to find a Watch KIT online that you could order and assemble. This was suited well for my intermediate project because it allowed for learning while also easy to follow instructions.
Here are a few pictures of some of the pieces and processes of putting the watch together. The majority of the process involved soldering resistors. I had never soldered anything in my life so this was a huge learning point for me, and I was very nervous that I would mess up by burning the circuit board or something.
In the end the only mess up I had was soldering the battery holder in place. Because I made this mistake the battery wouldn't go in all the way, which didn't allow the watch to stay on unless I pushed the battery down.

These are the resistors I had to solder on to the circuit board.
Here is the circuit board with my first two resistors soldered! Nothing was destroyed! I did it!!!
This is the wrist band the watch will go in to.
The is the LED display board that shows the time, date, and even the moon cycle!
Finally I took a picture of some of the solder material I used to put it all together!
